4C Storage
After 4C™: STORAGE
- After drying with heat, the parts will have enough 4C™ "conversion coating" to withstand covered storage (no rain, etc) for several months to a year before use. "Freeze preparation" you might say.
- Storage will be vastly more resilient if the 4C™ is used at 140 degrees Fareinheight rather then at room temperature. Unofficial tests show 1.5 hours of actual salt spray resistance with the cold process and 10-15 hours with a hot process (without oil) Its resistance to the storage environment seems to be vastly better then the samt spray resistance test would indicate - perhaps due to it being a more dense conversion surface the looser conversion structure phosphating provides.
- There is not a great deal of independent testing, but one Military Contractor is using it to vastly reduce scrappage of rusted metal in storage - quite the profit maker.
- While anti-rust storage without oil is remarkable, the surface seems to be compatable with conventional oils, grease, and wax - provided they are non-acid and non-reactive (inert) versions.
