The American Elm,

[The above] slice of AMERICAN ELM was cut from a live tree
in 1980. It was sanded and had the bark stripped.
ARROW WOOD FINISH was applied and rubbed in with
400 grit abrasive paper. This piece cured in an
unheated garage in ST. Paul, MN for about a year. It
has been displayed at 45-50 Shows coast to coast
through every kind of weather since about 1983.

It has been cleaned several times because of the
accumulation of dirt from thousands of people
handling it. It shows very little checking or
cracks and no splitting even though it has
been dropped SEVERAL TIMES. Elm usually splits in
less than 24 hours from the time it is cut. (All other
test pieces from the same tree WITH OTHER SEALERS,
SPLIT WITHN 24 HOURS!)
No other wood finish gives you this kind of
