The purpose of this is to prepare the metal to a 1/3 size grain, so the Parkerizing is much more rugged due to the tine structure. It is a preheat phase, since preheated somewhat parts are better than going into the solution at room temperature, especially for small tanks. 10 grams in a 1/2 oz. jar container is enough to due at minimum a 5 pint tank, or compliment 8 oz. of Manganese solution at a time. It is free for the trial asking, up to a maximum of (4) 40 gram containers for up to (1) gallon price of the Parkerizing. 10 grams per 8 ounces on normal orders, since it may be not desired for restoration projects, but for maximum corrosion protection, yes.
